Its a gr8 news. But Near to Ahmedabad, in Gujarat world’s biggest hightech city is taking place in more than 225 area known as GIFT city. It contains tallest tower of more than 100 storeys and 4 towers more than 85 storeys. There are total 50 towers are proposed to built which will have more than 40 storeys height. But I think it will take more than 7 years for complete city’s construction.

  • lokesh Dec 17, 2008, 8:01 am

The all tall buildings are at mumbai. But i wonder any tall building in other metro cities.

  • NK Jan 4, 2009, 10:53 am

I dont think mumbai will be a modern destination with one 60 floor building. It needs to improve the speed. People are building 100 floor building and we are stuck on 60.

  • sayeed khan Jan 6, 2009, 4:15 pm

as per the mumbai populaation need more towers like imperial towar. any way its zabardast

  • Lok Ram Jan 7, 2009, 1:27 pm

    Hi to everyone,

The Tall building List Data seems TOTALLY INCORRECT.
I wonder what is the authenticity of this. The list doesnot include many projects in Mumbai which are more than 40 storeys. One more thought crosses my mind. Has anyone guessed the height from ground level – or in layman’s term we are still judging heights by the number of stories. Worldwide the tall structures are mentioned/ reported in meters and the method is from the adjoing ground level to the top most point (which also includes the height of the spires on top of the towers).
On the world map, our Tall buildings are just DWARFS. I think we Indians still have that inferiority hangover and we would just publish a report just for the publicity or news making gimmick out of anything to rap up attention and Self admiration on a topic which is a shame. 60 years after independence, 100 crore people with blurred political leadership, we brow beat on such cheap gimmicks. What a shame !! We should have crossed 500 metres tall structures in parts of our metros by now,and we are still languishing at 200. Its a classic case of Governance failure.

  • mahesh kotian Jan 20, 2009, 5:11 am

i was really amazed by u guys!!!…wt d point of appreciation………..for ur kind information , this tower is 210 m high, under construction n scheduled to b completed in dis year………2009. on d other side of famous tower in USA ……like empire state buildiing( 381 m) , chrysler tower( 319 m) was cmplted in 1931 n 1930 respectively……… brief ….we didnt reach 2/3 d height of empire state building ,even after 78 years of its completion.
see d wrld n den judge where r we, what we hav 2 do 2 take our country 2 such heights.

  • Ashish Nigam Feb 20, 2009, 5:31 am

Mumbai boasts of having the best and tallest buildings of India, after all its the Financial capital of India. Going by the stats.. 48% of the total incometax of India comes alone from Mumbai !!!! Thats the Power of Mumbai. No wonder, very soon Mumbai would be in the league of top World Class cities. You guys must not be aware that the 3rd tallest building in the world is going to be built in AAmchi Mumbai. Its going to have 101 floors in it !! And the cost would come around to be Rs 4000 Crores.. Amazing City..

  • rudrik Feb 21, 2009, 2:13 pm

Mumbai with its tall skyscrapers will soon become equal to shanghai. But infrastructure like roads, overbridges and water supply should also be equally developed.

  • Pradeep May 6, 2009, 6:23 am

whts an irony….many ppl in India dont have a roof over thier head…and on the other we have lots of indians buying 2000 – 5000 sqft house at rs. 10000 – 15000 per sqft area for a family 3 or 4. lolzzzzzzzzzzzz

INDIA is the most UNEQUAL nation in the world. Everything in this country is ruled or influenced (including media) by the Upper class or the higher m iddle class people and the the amazing this is that they constitute only the 5 – 10% of the total population.

  • zeeshan May 18, 2009, 10:24 am

dont worry man we are going to break your record of tallest building. and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • navin May 21, 2009, 9:18 am

  • Krish Jun 4, 2009, 1:51 pm

It luks gud… but too late for a very first rapidly growing country in the world… if it goes in this level then 2020 will be little hard to reach the goal which is “strongest country in the world” . . . !

  • sumit Jun 9, 2009, 10:38 am

    very good in the india

  • Prateek Jun 9, 2009, 5:28 pm

Ya, its good to have a tower like this, but in my opinion, there should be something equal to world’s tallest tower. Making 50-60 stories is like an 1950’s building of US, they were making it from decades.

    well done

  • prajwal Jul 19, 2009, 4:41 am

its cooool, but what about the other places like Bangalore ,they should develop all the places and make india the BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

  • Kaushik Jul 19, 2009, 8:59 am

Isolated structures, although huge and beautiful, will not be of much help in making “Aamchi Mumbai” a truly world class city. A megaplan which will overhaul entire infra of city (Roads, Sewerage Systems, Permanant Concrete Trenches For Utilities, Greener Areas, etc.) is required to make “Aamchi Mumbai” compete with New York / London / Shanghai.

We definately have the money, technology and skilled manpower to make this a reality. Only a CM with strong will power and dedication to our city is missing.

  • satya Jul 20, 2009, 10:48 am

Its an era of begining but want more taller buildings in INDIA.looking at the increasing population, more skycrapers should be built.only 200m will not do in near future.

  • Rignesh Desai Jul 24, 2009, 6:42 pm

I wish in India people would not build skyscrapers if it they were to, and it is to become Indian ICON. I’m sure there are enough terrorist in India and Pakistan to plan another 9/11. I would definitely support building world tallest building in INDIA if there are enough security for the people. If you look at the history in 1993 several places in MUMBAI trembled with insane blasts. This was just the beginning. I am sure authorities have tried their best to capture involved, yet at this point they are trying to bring them to justice. That lead other events to happens such as several other blasts in trains in mumbai, blasts in various cities in INDIA and recently attack on the INDIAN ICON in mumbai and other places.

History dictates that India will do investigation, provide enough supporting evidence announce the names of culprits and that it.

I personally am pacifist but here resolving issues with peace is not an option for sure. INDIA has enough military forces if you need to go on war just don’t hesitate just don’t wait for someone to come to was with.

I wish INDIA would grow to the superpower but I have seen and felt that this is not happening ever.

  • ali shaikh Jul 28, 2009, 10:26 am

we are indian waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant to the tallest tower in the world in india.

  • SUBRAMANI HARI Jul 31, 2009, 9:50 am

  • kuntal Aug 1, 2009, 10:18 am

mumbai should be a developed city by 2014. all slums should be demolished by the next 2 to 3 years… common government.. u can do it.mumbai should have the tallest buiding in the world n also 7 star hotels.there should be one area in mumbai which should be like the sheikh khalifa bin zayed road which is in dubai.

  • R.Baby singh Sep 18, 2009, 2:55 pm

  • aishwary saxena Sep 23, 2009, 8:53 am

it’s good to see,but infrastructure is in few cities.

  • Vishal Srivastava Nov 24, 2009, 10:03 am

Yeah its magnificient. But infrastructural development in India is very slow. The reason is just poor attitude and planning of the government. You take the example of Varanasi. Its a heritage and our holy city. But, is the central govt. doing enough to save it? NO

  • jay shah Nov 24, 2009, 6:35 pm

    Dear Aishwary,

You are right but give me one ans. Rome was built in one day?.

  • sumit kumar singh Nov 28, 2009, 8:52 am

M/s Shapoorji Pallonji Co. Ltd. Really let indians proude but we still need more than this.

  • abhijeet bhosale Dec 2, 2009, 1:19 pm

dude… i agree v guys r slow…but it gives us chance to learn frm the developed cities….like did u noe?? by developing satellite cities like navi mumbai, thane…v r releasin a lot f pressure off mumbaiz shoulders… v dont want to another shanghai or new york… v jus want to a mumbai…very developed mumbai… n u shud go see the development work at nites…they r workin real hard… v hv had certain obstacles wich none f the developed cities eva faced in their makin… like the slums, rehabilitation of the chawls…etc etc…n besides…if u check the statistics… v hav almost 150 planned+ constructed bldgs ova 40fls… almost 10 planned+ constructd 60+ flrs jus in mum… thane n navi mumbai follow…

  • AVINASH PEDNEKAR Dec 4, 2009, 4:05 am

Its nice to see such magnificient structures, but said to see the state of infracture in a city like mumbai. when one land at the airport, it gives a said state of affairs in mumbai about the slum dwellers. Look at the airports, no footpaths, no CLENLINESS AT ALL, SO DIRTY, GARBAGE EVERYWERE. I hope our politicians who run this country will learn some thing from the planned cities like singapore, bangkok, hong kong, dudai, etc which are so clean and also the infracture that those cities have. We as a country have enough resources but when it comes to planning, implementation and execution we are the poorest.

  • ankit tiwaree Dec 30, 2009, 6:09 am

this is beautifully shown in my net

  • Divyanshu Jan 4, 2010, 2:41 pm

It is very good . India is really progressing.

  • GURVINDER SINGH Jan 5, 2010, 8:53 am

why india’s top tallest buildings are in Mumbai… why is our government not investing in infrastructure in other cities too.., why is india behind than all developed countries, why do we export raw material and import finshed goods.. there are lot of things that we need to think and to think our politiciancs and leaders to work rather speaking and blaming opossite parties only.

    Gurvinder Singh

  • sanjay Jan 6, 2010, 9:19 pm

rome sure wasn’t built in 1 day, but thats old days u r talking about, india now has soo much labor force and soo much technology but it seems like they never use it to its full potential. i mean i see they talking about building a small bridge for like say 2,000 crores and do u actually see how long does it take for them to construct the building, its not rocket science to wonder where does all the money go or why is it taking them so long. But if india truly wants to be a powerful nation it needs to starts with the government thats willing to make some crucial changes, ohh did i forgot to mention we need some real leaders in the government not some guy who did not even pass high school

  • shantanu kadam Jan 8, 2010, 12:10 pm

The rates of commercial and residential are going to increase by 33 % due to increase in standard designed buildings.

  • samudra bikash hazarika Jan 12, 2010, 7:00 am

its good looking. twin tower always good

  • Rajkumar Subudhi Jan 12, 2010, 11:24 am

I want to ask u people, is India is ready for constructing such buildings. We are among the poor nations, and the priority of our nation is not to build big buildings, but provide basic infrastructure and facilities, like roads, colleges, schools, medical, etc. If our govt can able to do this much, than we all will more than happier.

  • Rajkumar Subudhi Jan 12, 2010, 11:27 am

its unfotunate that we r not complete, but we always blames politicians. I always hesitate to blame politicians only, because we all are same, no one is gold.

  • Rajkumar Subudhi Jan 12, 2010, 11:30 am

wil that emperial buildiing constructed in 50, 60 yr?

  • sanjay Jan 13, 2010, 3:03 am

thats true no one is gold, but don’t we always seem to vote for that politicians that you know are going to do nothing rather than do something. Most of the politicians worry about them selves 100% they don’t care about people, if they did they could have actually use some kind of money to develop the rural parts of india rather than the big cities. i am not saying its just politicians its just indians if u think about it we vote every time but we don’t care if the politician is good or not we just care about our daily life rather than do something, i know a single person can’t change the system but it has to start with politician that can do something, for example: if there one person who is new wanted to be a politician and he said he will try to correct the system, do you really think anybody would vote for him. the answer is NO!!!!! because we are so used to the politicians we don’t care anymore, we have our freedom but we have soo much of our population in under the poverty line and you might not know this but indian government most of the times does make the indian people lifes below where they actually stand. like say you have a really good job and you make really good money and you wanted to buy a honda car because you really like it in india an entry level accord costs you 18 lakhs which is about 40 k here in U.S it is 21k. You can see that almost two cars for one why?? because the indian goverment has import tax of more than 100% the cost the import soo anything imported would cost you heck of alot more. and wonder all that money goes, to corrupt people don’t you agree. indian is not really a democracy its version of democracy with soo many wrong rules. i think just buy taking the import tax away you could easily change the life of many middle class people who like to buy good cars rather than a crap car. at least i would. but finally i love india but just the things that govern india makes me just hate it

  • priyaa Jan 19, 2010, 4:43 pm

these are the greatness of india

  • Rahul Feb 15, 2010, 2:54 am

After all said and done. Try to understand one thing. It is not the responsibility or duty of the Central Government to build high-rises and buildings in cities or states. It is the sole duty of the State Services (Municipality), under the direct supervision of their respective local governing body (State Government) to do so.

If you have problems with infrastructure in your city, talk to the city municipal corporation. They get elected by you locals. They are accountable to their people directly. If they complain that the State Government is not giving them enough funds to start new projects or complete current projects on time, then go condemn the State Government’s lack of focus on development. If the State Government is repeatedly ignoring public protests, then appeal to the Central Government to intervene and enforce public policy. That is the Constitutional (and hence legal) procedure to take up public development issues with the authorities.

The Central Government has nothing to do with local (commercial or residential) infrastructure development. They just regulate the industry at a macro level to maintain homogeneity across the country.

So, please, stop blaming the Central Government for every single issue you see in life. Know what the Central Government’s duties are and then argue if they are fulfilling those duties or not.

  • Rahul Feb 15, 2010, 3:00 am

Exactly my thought too. We have more pressing issues. New York styled cities can wait. Some of our citizens are dying on hunger as we speak.

  • Gokul Nair Feb 21, 2010, 4:11 am

Well !! Its good to see some tall buildings in India especially in mumbai. But we are far behind than countries. We need some broad minded investors. And one question i wanna ask to every citizen – Do u think WE are that much poor that we cann’t have sky scrappers in India?

One of the most important factor and obstacle of India’s progress is that people in general are not disciplined, dedicated and determined for progress for their country. Most of the people I know are lazy and Procrastinator. And when it comes to development, all the three “D”s plays a significant role; as a matter of fact all three are incomplete without each other. So friends, with these excellent thoughts start a positive association for the prograss of the country. not only by words, but by actions of doing it as well.

current position in the wprld is that Disciplined

  • Govinda ram May 17, 2010, 1:16 pm

India can build 10 numbers of ” The Burj Dubai building ” but India does not need .
Indian Goverment offices can not bear the cost of the rents , again govt has to depend on MNCs for maintainence of the building . If India can host commom weath games do you thing that building a big towers is a big deal? In Chennai Tamilnadu govt built “Tidel park “every year they are reducing the rent of the building now they are charging Rs 40 per sqf earlier it was more than RS 60 per sqf.

  • krishnan May 26, 2010, 2:14 pm

If We Compare our ecomnomy with CHINA than we found that its size is four times than Indian econony.

    We should think about it.

  • santosh Jun 27, 2010, 5:58 am

we indians r the smartest guy in the world no doubt but we r lazy to, the time we had taken to build the bandra worli sea link was too much in that sufficient time china can build 3 to 4 sea link.we all need is we should be dedicate to our work we r having the plans we have to accelerate

  • vinod kushwaha Jul 5, 2010, 2:07 am

  • sarvesh Aug 11, 2010, 7:29 am

hey dear sanjay we alwayz blame d politicians for the mismanagement of money but can u tell me what efforts we do at an individual level to rise india’s economy?ya there r some “corrupt” politicians…
but they r we who elect them!SO PLEASE STOP BLAMING AND START WAKING!
sorry if u feel that i m rude but thats a fact!i blame ourselves for the present condition of india!

  • akash kamal Aug 11, 2010, 12:30 pm

mumbai meri jan hai jan hai jan hai aur building mumbai ki pahchan hai

  • Daanish Rawal Aug 17, 2010, 2:29 pm

I do support ur answer but we al know how dumb and slow and also corrupt our municipality is. So i mean 2 say that INDIA is a democratic nation, so its the solemn duty for the fellow Indians to raise their voices against the municipality, against the corruption. N now, my friend u might b thinking how would we do that? I’ve got a solution 2 this too. WE SHOULD KEEP AN ACCOUNT FOR THE TAXES WE PAY AND IN TURN ASK THE MUNICIPALITY 2 GIVE US THE ACCOUNT OF SINGLE PENNY THE’VE BEEN USING OR “EATING” WE CAN SAY AND GETTING FAT AS A SWINE…….. IN THIS WAY I BELIEVE THAT INDIA WOULD BE HAVING A BETTER GDP, A BETTER INCOME, A BETTER SAVING, BETTER INVESTMENT AND MOST OF ALL, THE PEOPLE WOULD BE SATISFIED AND THAT WOULD ULTIMATELY LEAD TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE THAT INCLUDES HIGH RISES AND TRANSPORTATION

  • pravin bhangre Oct 8, 2010, 10:28 am

mumbai is economical capital of india.but its infrastructure, population, bevavior of people shows ugliness of india.we have strengh but we are not doing anything. i want suggest all of our youngster that you are only the one can create something different.

  • Anand Golait Oct 12, 2010, 1:39 pm

i believe tht india should focus on agriculture not on infrastucture and architecture……….

  • Nagraj Oct 28, 2010, 3:26 pm

I agree with you but what about other people?

  • sahil Nov 3, 2010, 2:39 pm

yaaaaaaaa continue like this and we will reached no.1 in the world

  • Ateev saxena Nov 5, 2010, 4:20 am

Another reason for the weak indian ifrastructure are the brilliant architects who studies india but serves countries like dubai

  • Ateev saxena Nov 5, 2010, 4:29 am

We should dare to do different. I mean why youngsters of india only dreams to become an ias officer or a doctor? Why not try to be an architect or a civil engineer.

  • Ateev saxena Nov 5, 2010, 4:37 am

Friends please dont compare indias economy with china. Think of the tax they get from such a large population.

  • Sakshi Nov 23, 2010, 11:29 am

Why we always talk about builders and architects and not about the workers who made this kind of big building we should also tell thanks to them who (each and every person) all are work hard for build this type of buildings.

  • ramanathan Dec 11, 2010, 5:37 pm

it’s good to see. but we have to built lot more buildings with above 100 floors.

  • sachin Jan 8, 2011, 11:18 am

each n every sector must b focused on,my dear friend.

  • Gajendra Suthar Jan 16, 2011, 12:49 pm

Hello dear india in progress some times after india is a numberone country in world.

  • sunil kumawat Jan 19, 2011, 5:18 pm

growing india ,well proud of it

  • Harry Achari Jan 23, 2011, 5:20 pm

yes, gurvinderji, u r absolutely right.
we have politicians who are lazy to work. they blame opposition parties to attract people. In the meantime they bribe and bring huge amount of money to swiss bank. $3 thrillion is still in swissbank ( u gotta know its an average calculation, real amount can be twice higher).
all because of those british colonialists didnt give india freedom. they handed over india to the corrupt nehru family. big discrimination. they gave freedom for malesian, singaporians, emirates. There people have got their country back. In India things goes quit different. There are big maffias like rich buisiness people and takoors pays huge amount of money for political parties in parlementary election. so these parties make demonstrations. People elect them. they get power and they work for those feudelists. Do they do something for the country? i dont think so. our infrastructure is worse that africa. no roads, but much new cars. in some years the country become a hell. people are guilty. they elect corrupt leaders. they themselves are the victim of manupulation . do u think they need new brains?

  • VBsenthilnaathan Feb 3, 2011, 1:21 pm

Its really interesting but all buildings are constructed on a single location
ADV: Easy to Provide safety arrangements such as fire safety & all as a whole but it will be more use full if these type of Buildings are spread all over the world

  • Kannan Feb 6, 2011, 11:56 pm

Hi people it’s usless to dream of a number one – super power India without any effort. First we have to change the attitudes and life style of our people in India; our people are living in a primitive way, do not have propper education, many have university degrees but most of them fake. Look at cities like Bombay, Delhi etc very ugly and filthy, the government officials’ behaviour to their own people and the same officials how do they submit to the “white foreigners” one has to see.
Secondly we have a political system of nineteenth centuary rules and laws which was a ‘vomit’ of the British. Today’s so called politicians’ thoughts are how to grab the wealth of the state. Look at Kamaldi and Raja- most of them are Rajas and Kamaldis. Do you dream anymore of a better India?
Think of the huge “Loka Sabha”, Five hundred and fortyfive whom are sleeping in five stars to to “serve” their poor country fellows. The funny thing is that most of them are Gandhians and a few “nephews” of Max and Engels.
Now our young generation should wake up and take over power from the stupid usless leaders.
    Jai Bharat!
