Internet explore (IE7) will be available via windows xp update

Microsoft is planning automatically push Internet Explorer 7 to all Windows XP users when the browser update is ready later this year. IE7 promises to bring standards such as CSS and support for PNG files etc. This is a good thing most of web developer.

According to zdnet.com, “IE 7 will be delivered in the fourth quarter as a “high priority” update via Automatic Updates in Windows XP, Gary Schare, Microsoft’s director of IE product management, said in an interview Tuesday.”

Slashdot is reporting that Winternals and Sysinternals are acquired by Microsoft.

Indian-born scientist developing coated DVD’s that can make hard disks obsolete

An Indian born scientist in the US is working on developing DVD’s which can be coated with a light -sensitive protein and can store up to 50 terabytes (about 50,000 gigabytes) of data.

Professor V Renugopalakrishnan of the Harvard Medical School in Boston has claimed to have developed a layer of protein made from tiny genetically altered microbe proteins which could store enough data to make computer hard disks almost obsolete.

No need to use mouse to control GUI elements on screen. Your eyes are more than sufficient to replace your mouse. According to BBC story, “Computers of the future could be controlled by eye movements, rather than a mouse or keyboard. Scientists at Imperial College, London, are working on eye-tracking technology that analyses the way we look at things.”
