Finding happiness: What do you want?

There is a nice article about finding happiness in Times of India (dt. Feb-01-2007). It is written by Deepak Chopra – an Indian medical doctor who writes extensively on spirituality and diverse topics in mind-body medicine.

According to article:
To be happy for no reasons is the happiness we want to experience. Most people say, “I’m happy because…I have family and friends, because I have a great job, because I have money and security.” All these reasons for happiness are tenuous; they come and go like the passing breeze. Happiness is a state of consciousness that already exists within us, but it’s often covered up by all kinds of distractions.

I am 100% agree with Deepak’s view point. Every human being is having heaven inside; only it needs to be discovered, for that we need to find our Creator (God). Our inner self, soul which definitely gives the answer to question – “Who am I?“.

Happiness for a reason is just another from of misery because the reason can be taken away at any time. To be happy for no reason is the happiness we want says Deepak Chopra :)

An extraordinary dinner that changed my life

Shaily Mishra has published very nice article in Times of India’s The Speaking Tree section titled as “An extraordinary dinner that changed my life”. From the article “One night God appeared in my dreams and asked me to have dinner with Him the following night. The venue was the restaurant not from my home and time was 9 pm I was confused. Should I go ahead and keep my dinner appointment with God or dismiss the invitation as a crazy dream?“. Read the full article online

This story gives very nice message “you have to be honest with God everyday.” This is what happens most of time with me. I am only honest on holey days and other days I do not remain honest. I am still thinking on this one….

Have no fear

Recently I was reading very nice piece of information. According to Swami Vivekananda ”
The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you. Depend on no one. The movement you reject all help you are free“.
All our problems and fears will come and go, just as we go, even god comes on this earth and go, and so have no fear. Always accept conditions, don’t expect & accept help form anyone.. this way we will not worry more about problems!

In celebration – The Dasara Festival

This day marks the triumph of lord Rama over demon King Ravana. It is the victory of good over evil.

Checkout more information on the dasara festival along with pictures.

Why I can’t see the GOD?

Air or electricity cannot be seen. It does not have a form.

But we can sense Air or experience the electricity.

According to Kalki Bhagwan “God is formless and can be experienced only through his manifestations. The easiest one is when he incarnates on the plant in a human form (avatars).

Kalki is Avatar of Vishnu who will come to end the current Kali Yuga.

Why God does not listen to our prayers?

Learn about God and prayers – and more about why my wish was not granted.

God is like our Friend. We all are his children. He is the all-loving one. He always listens to our prayers.

However, some time we feel God is not listing our prayers. We go further and think he does not answer prayer and we feel he cannot do anything for us. The truth is everything is possible with God. In addition, God does not answer our prayer because of he knows that they are not for our good. In today’s fast moving world following formula should help all of us:

Worship God in all your happy times,
Pray hard to God in all your difficult times,
Spend time in temple/church in your quite times,
Admire God in all your painful times,
Indeed, remember supreme power every time to draw closer to him.

Keep faith on God

According to Sadhu Vaswani, “Faith is not blind. Faith is seeing with the eyes of mind. With two eyes, we see beautiful world, and with eyes of faith we can distinguish goodness, peace, and joy around us.”

Faith is believing that god loves you. God loves every one of use. He has a plan for us. He will provide for all our need.

Throughout our lifetime, we came across good and bad experiences. We feel frightened. In such stormy situation, trust the God. He will help us in our darkest time; his light will continue to shine us.

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Charurthi is the birthday of Lord Ganesha, son of Shiva & Parvati and God of wisdom and prosperity. The festival falls on the fourth day of the bright fornight of Bhadrapada. It is amongst the most popular festivals in India and especially in Maharashtra.
According to Ganesha Pancharatam Ganesh as

Ganapati who brings happiness to all worlds, who destroyed the demon Gajasura, who has a big belly, beautiful elephant face, who is immortal, merciful, all-forgiving who bestows on me a well-disposed mind

The festival beginning with the installation of beautifully sculpted Ganesh idols in homes and mandaps, colorfully decorated, depicting religious themes or current events. The idols are worshiped with families and friends. He’s the god of wisdom, learning. removal of obstacles and giver of success. He brings in good luck.

As a child, we all used to celebrate together, but now everyone’s busy. So most of us do a simple puja in the morning, offer Ganesha’s favourite sweet – the modaka. Most indian women make modaka at home but others can purchase it at sweet store. Besides modaka we offer God his favourite fruit and flower.
God Ganesha associated with the start of anything new like your business, work, school, even beginning of each puja must start with Ganesha. That is why we call him Adi Devta or the first god.

I would like to wish everyone (especially our site readers) a happy Ganesh Chaturthi and may God fulfill all of our wishes and keep the peace on the our blue planet.
