Windows XP scan and clean computer from Malware with Free tools

Malware is software program damage a computer system (or use computer system network resources to send spam and other illegal stuff), without the owner’s informed consent.

So how I am going to find (scan) and clean Windows XP computer from Malware and other stuff such as Trojans, Backdoors, Worms, Dialers, Keyloggers etc. Use the a-squared Free Scanner to scan your hard disk, remove all infections and restore your PC to maximum performance.

This program can be downloaded from Internet, which is free for private use. This is an excellent program.

Ubuntu Linux shutdown the X server

Recently someone asked me a question – “How do I shutdown the X server, so that I have a command line prompt on the console?”

Well answer is very simple use script located at /etc/init.d/ directory. If you are using KDE desktop type the command (make sure you save all the work as following command does not ask confirmation):

sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop

Within few seconds you should be dropped to a command line prompt on the console. To start GUI type command:

sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start

If you are using GNOME:

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop

Again to start GNOME desktop:

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start

Another way – You can change the current runlevel

From a command line, you can use the init command to go immediately into runlevel 1, which is also known as single user text mode. Open terminal and type the following command:

sudo init 1

Again get back to GUI with init 2 command:

sudo init 2

When you type init 1 command your session will then begin to shut down and bring you into single user text mode. When you type init 2 command your session will then begin to shut down and bring you into GUI mode :)

Pretty easy ahh?

So what are GDM and KDM?

GDM (the GNOME Display Manager) provides an alternate display manager for the X Window System.
KDM (the KDE Display Manger) provides an alternate display manager for the X Window System.
In short, both of them are a graphical login interface for computers using Linux or Unix-like operating systems.

How do I burn ISO images to a CD using Windows XP/2000?

If you have downloaded Linux ISO cds or other ISO format software and would like to burn ISO images to a CD using Windows XP, you must get special CD burning software.

Windows does not provide any in build software to burn ISO images to a CD.

When you purchase a CD Writer, you get burning software with your product. For example Nero CD burning software. You can order the same software or download trial version from Internet

Download Nero Burn (I am dam sure you will love to purchase software after trial)

Install Nero Burn, double click on ISO image, and just click on Burn.

Mobile phone sms/text message turns off Dell computer

Chris found an interesting bug that turns off Dell computer by mobile text (sms) message.

Finally, I found trailer for Lage Raho Munnabhai movie.

Lage Raho Munna Bhai movie to be released in 2006. The film is the sequel to the 2004 film Munnabhai M.B.B.S.. The cast include Munna bhai (Sanjay Dutt) and Circuit (Arshad Warsi). Vidya Balan (Simran) and Dia Mirza also star in the film.

I hope we will see some good comedy as first part was amazing. The plot is as follows this time…

“…One fine day our Munnabhai is arrested and sent to court, he decides to conduct his own defense. Now he needs to study law, so he go to a law school – and fun starts just like it was in the first part…
”

According to Wikipedia…The plot is as follows:
Munna “Bhai” (Sanjay Dutt) falls in love with voice of the Radio Jockey Jahnvi (Vidya Balan). However, due to some misunderstanding, Jahnvi thinks Munna is a history professor and invites Munna to see her family and give them a lecture on history. What should Munna do …?
