Microsoft Releases Tools to Boost Web Accessibility

Microsoft makes its accessibility model freely available to help improve access to technology for people with disabilities. Web accessibility refers to the practice of making websites usable by people of all abilities and disabilities. When sites are correctly designed, developed and edited, all users can have equal access to information and functionality. For example, when a site is coded with semantically meaningful HTML, with textual equivalents provided for images and with links named meaningfully, this helps blind users using text-to-speech software and/or text-to-Braille hardware.

From the press release:

Microsoft Corp. committed to contribute its UI Automation specification to the Accessibility Interoperability Alliance (AIA), a new engineering working group dedicated to making it easier for developers to create software, hardware and Web-based products that are accessible to people with disabilities. The UI Automation specification describes Microsoft’s latest accessibility framework technology, and will help developers include advanced accessibility functionality into implementations designed for use on any operating system.

Windows Vista the worst operating system ever

Trust me I was forced to work with Vista and it was a nightmare. Hardware will stop working or suddenly control panel get disabled because I apply latest security update to Nvidia graphics card.

Now Windows vista is in top ten terrible tech products list:

Any operating system that provokes a campaign for its predecessor’s reintroduction deserves to be classed as terrible technology. Any operating system that quietly has a downgrade-to- previous-edition option introduced for PC makers deserves to be classed as terrible technology. Any operating system that takes six years of development but is instantly hated by hordes of PC professionals and enthusiasts deserves to be classed as terrible technology.

I just hope this project get over and I can through out Windows Vista :D

How do I start hpux network service?

Use following command to start HP-UX network service:

/etc/init.d/net start
OR
/sbin/init.d/net start
Please note that your network configuration file is /etc/rc.config.d/netconf . Here is my sample /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file:

# cat /etc/rc.config.d/netconf
Output:
HOSTNAME=deephpux < --change hostname here OPERATING_SYSTEM=HP-UX LOOPBACK_ADDRESS=127.0.0.1 INTERFACE_NAME[0]=lan0 IP_ADDRESS[0]=192.168.1.100 <--change IP address here SUBNET_MASK[0]=255.255.255.0 <--change subnet mask here BROADCAST_ADDRESS[0]="" DHCP_ENABLE[0]="0" <--Do you wanna DHCP? set 1 to use DHCP

You can also set IP address using ifconfig command:
# ifconfig lan0 192.168.1.200 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

See or get current IP address information with ifconfig command:
# ifconfig lan0
